Resources for FPT

This is a (hopefully) growing list of resources that are useful to feminist technology trainers.

Materials on Gender and Technology
The materials listed below are resources (websites and publications) that explore gender and information and communication technology issues. They are specifically useful for trainers who are looking to deepen and broaden their understanding of technologies from feminist and/or gender perspectives.

BRIDGE Pack: Gender and ICTs
http://www.bridge.ids.ac.uk//bridge/reports_gend_CEP.html#icts

From the BRIDGE website: Who benefits from information and communication technology (ICTs)? ICTs have created new economic and social opportunities the world over. The positive changes brought about by ICTs, however, have not touched all of humanity. Their use continues to be governed by existing power relations where women frequently experience relative disadvantage. Amidst this inequality are individuals and organisations that are working to use these technologies to further gender equality.

APDIP e-Primer: Gender and ICTs
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Gender_and_ICT

From the APDIP site: This e-Primer looks at information and communications technology (ICT) for development through a gender lens. It provides a gender perspectives to issues of ICT policies; access and control; education, training and skill development; and content development, and introduces a framework to integrate gender in ICT for development and empower women.

GenderIT
