The entire chapter four of the constitution is devoted to protection of fundamental and other human rights and freedoms. There are specific provisions that relate to gender. The national objective and directive principles of State Policy number XV states that: “the state shall recognize the significant role that women play in society.”

A foreigner guest

To be a guest at an international hotel, one of this big gorgeous, fully equipped hotels with 24/7 guest assistance is making me always feel strange. The reason is quite easy, I am not usually a guest at five-star-high-security-profile-hotels.

We live contradictions every day of our lives. No matter how much we try to stay true to who we are or what we aspire to, we fall into places and times of contradiction. Sometimes it is just a matter of survival or the way it has to be for a while. In Islamabad I feel as if I have fallen into and out of a place of contradiction.
